Research
Research is crucial to our stewardship of the national collections and to the intellectual development of subject knowledge.
National Museums Scotland is an Independent Research Organisation (IRO). To support our ambitions for research we seek partnerships which align to our strategic goals, working with academic and non-academic experts including other IROs, museums and Higher Education Institutions.
In addition to collections research, we collaborate on research projects which investigate best practice in partnerships and engagement, and we support academic research as project partners.
Our research is underpinned by policies and procedures which support good practice in research including research ethics and integrity, and we are committed to following the All European Academies European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity.
Research outputs from our staff can be found in our Research repository.
