About Air Raid Tours
Explore our newly refurbished air raid and blast shelters with our costumed guide.
Before it was home to the National Museum of Flight, East Fortune Airfield was one of the UK's key military bases during the First and Second World Wars.
New for 2024, you can now explore our recently restored Second World War air raid shelter and one of our blast shelters. Our costumed guide will lead you around these two wartime buildings to discover what they were for, how people used them, and what people's experiences of them were like.
The tours will run from Wednesday to Friday, with two time slots to choose from:
- 11:00 - 11:20
- 13:00 - 13:20
The tour meeting point is the museum shop.
