About Dig It: Archaeology Family Fun

Celebrate the first day of Scottish Archaeology Month and 10 years since the discovery of the Galloway Hoard with hands-on family activities.

The Galloway Hoard was discovered 10 years ago in September 2014. Join us to celebrate its discovery, and to mark the first day of Scottish Archaeology Month.

Get hands on with objects from Scotland’s archaeological past, take part in our Galloway Hoard bird pin trail and enjoy gallery tours designed especially for families.

At 11:00 & 14:00 our regular Sensory Sunday sessions for children with additional support needs will have an archaeology theme.
