About Half term: Second World War Scotland

Discover real objects and stories from the Second World War in Scotland with our half term family activities.

See clothing and equipment of worn and used RAF Coastal Command pilots during the Second World War and our newly refurbished blast and air raid shelters.

Then learn some of the skills needed by Special Operations Executive reconnaissance organisation, some of whom trained in nearby Belhaven in East Lothian.

All activities are drop in and free with museum admission.

Wheelchair access

Airfield 

The site is wheelchair accessible. 

Borrow a wheelchair

Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge from the information desk in the museum shop. Please note that wheelchairs cannot be booked in advance. 

Boarding aircraft

Due to the historic nature of our collection, Concorde, Comet and BAC 1-11 can only be boarded by using stairs. 

Toilets

There are toilets around the site, which include accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. There is no Changing Places toilet on site.

Check the museum map or ask a member of staff for the nearest toilets. 

Assistance dogs

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are admitted.
