About Nature Track Packs

Explore more at the National Museum of Rural Life this summer with our Nature Track Packs.

Available to borrow at the museum ticket desk, each pack contains fun ideas and activities to help children use all their senses to explore the countryside on a walk to the farm.

Nature Track Packs are available to borrow on a first come, first served basis – just ask on arrival at our ticket desk, then return the pack to the desk once your Track Pack challenge is complete.

Accessibility and facilities

We want everyone who comes to our museums to enjoy their time with us and make the most of their visit.

Outdoor paths

The distance between the museum building and the farm is approximately half a mile.

Outdoor paths to the farm have firm, rough gravel surfaces with moderate slopes in some areas, suitable for pushchairs and electric assist wheelchairs or strong helper.

Seating is provided at regular intervals.

Farm Explorer tractor trailer

A tractor and trailer, the Farm Explorer, is provided for transporting visitors between the museum and working farm. The trailer is suitable for wheelchair and mobility scooter users, with a designated lift for boarding.

This service is free of charge and runs regularly throughout the day. Please ask a member of staff for the next tractor time.

Toilets

Toilets are available in the museum building and on the farm. This includes baby changing facilities and an adult changing bench.

Assistance dogs

Guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs are admitted.
