Physical description

Of plain circular from with rounded base and central girdle, on a stepped circular foot. The twin C scroll handles with acanthus thumbpieces. Engraved to body and lid with a crest of a Griffin’s head erased. Marked underneath and to lid flange with maker’s mark, assay master’s mark and alligator’s head (from 1747).
