Decanter (etunup) and lid, black-lacquered wood, cylindrical form with projecting spout and arched handle, circular lid hinged across centre, decorated in gold with maple branches in gold, interior coated with red lacquer, used by Ainu people in ceremonies: Japan, Kyoto, 17th century
