Human Ancient DNA
What is ancient DNA good for?
The field of ancient human genomics has expanded over the last 10 years. This talk explores the new human archaeogenetics with reference to recent breakthroughs in the analysis of ancient DNA, the skeletal elements usually favoured for DNA sampling, what effect sampling has on the appearance and research potential of the skeleton, laboratory techniques used to maximise retrieval of ancient human sequences and how laboratory products and data are stored and reused. What we can discover about ancient people from their genetic sequences and the information collaborators who provide samples should expect to receive from ancient DNA laboratories are also covered.
