Maths in museums
Maths Week Scotland is a focal week of activity taking place annually in autumn, aimed at a wide range of audiences.
Taking part in Maths Week Scotland 2024
In addition to the week itself there are special events and resources available for schools, families, adults and community groups through the year.
Across Maths Week Scotland, we want people of all ages and backgrounds to:
- Be curious, enthusiastic, confident and engaged in numeracy and mathematics
- Understand the relevance of maths learning and skills to their lives, now and in the future
- Have access to a diverse range of events and activities promoting and demonstrating the joy and value of maths.
Maths Week Scotland works with a range of organisations including universities, science centres, heritage organisations and maths institutes to achieve these aims. These organisations raise the profile of maths in existing activities and create new events and resources during Maths Week Scotland and year-round.
We would love to see more museums highlighting the maths and numeracy in their learning offers. You can be involved in Maths Week Scotland through downloadable resources, digital offers and on-site visits. Maths Week Scotland can support with promotion of your events and activities.
The focal week for Maths Week Scotland 2024 takes place Monday 23 to Sunday 29 September. The theme this year is Maths Tales.
