This form is for UK educational groups such as schools, home education groups, universities, and nurseries.

Overseas schools and language groups please request a visit using this form. For any other groups please email groups@nms.ac.uk

You should receive an email copy of your completed request form upon submission. Please get in touch if you have not received this, or if we do not reply within 5 working days.

Bookings for the 2024-2025 academic year will open on 19 August 2024.

Please note that submitting a request is not confirmation of booking. We will confirm your request within five working days of submission.

If the form has submitted successfully you will receive an automatic email showing details of your request. If you do not receive this the form has not submitted successfully, usually because some of the mandatory fields have not been completed.

For facilitated (charged) sessions:

Scottish State schools (where appropriate) should raise a Purchase Order through their Local Authority procurement system for the maximum cost of charged sessions.
Purchase Order numbers should be notified to schools@nms.ac.uk at least seven days in advance of the visit.
For sessions charged per pupil, schools will be charged for the number of pupils booked, unless 10 days advance notice of change in numbers is notified to schools@nms.ac.uk.

National Museums Scotland reserve the right to charge a fee for short notice cancellations or no-shows.
Bookings cancelled less than three weeks prior to the visit may incur an administration fee of 50% of the value of chargeable events.
Bookings cancelled less than two weeks prior to the visit may incur an administration fee of 100% of the value of chargeable events.
No-show or last-minute cancellations of free workshops or staff-led sessions may incur a £50.00 administration fee.
In certain circumstances, such as adverse weather conditions, National Museums Scotland may waive the administration fee.
Cancellations should be notified in writing to schools@nms.ac.uk.
