Sarah is a postdoctoral researcher on the AHRC-funded project Tools of Knowledge: Modelling the Creative Communities of the Scientific Instrument Trade, 1550-1914, having joined National Museums Scotland in November 2021. She is part of a team including colleagues from the Universities of Cambridge and Sussex, working to enhance an existing database of scientific instrument makers by modelling historical events and integrating it with collections data.
Sarah completed her PhD in Classical Studies at the Open University in 2022, which focused on the usability of Linked Data tools and resources for Ancient World research. Before returning to study, Sarah worked in academic libraries, most recently as Repository Manager at Cambridge University Library. Sarah is also Secretary of the UK Museums Computer Group and Programme Co-Chair of its annual Museums+Tech conference.
